RASSA is a little brand of home made curry puff started by DIN, a melayu mancunian curry puff lover in Manchester.

Din was working as part of global User Interaction Design (UID) team for Sony Ericsson (SE) in Manchester before the global credit crunch forced SE to close its Manchester site and laying off a few thousands staffs globally. While with SE, apart from designing application interaction design for SE Symbian phones, he also did the global branding for UID with offices in Lund, Manchester, Beijing and Tokyo.

He is now a designer with Wolstenholmes LLP and spends the rest of his energy to work on RASSA and as a design partner at mystreetretro.co.uk.

Born in Senggarang, Batu Pahat, Johor - where curry puff is also known as epok-epok. Went to Victoria Institution in Kuala Lumpur and then ITM Shah Alam before completing his degree  in Computer Graphic at Wanganui Design School in New Zealand.

 
 

His first real job was for WHW & Associates as a graphic designer and worked under William Harald Wong, the first president of wRega and one of it's co-founding member. At WHW he was involved in conceptualise works for International Bank of Malaysia, Banko Austral of Mozambique and MUST - a joint research university with Maschusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Some of the design implementation works done are for Celcom and Malaysia's Airline new identity, in collaboration with FutureBrand New York. Early connection with Manchester was working for the Manchester in Malaysia campaign sponsored by MIDAS and uk.today@klcc exibition for the XVI Commonwealth Games 98 Kuala Lumpur. Other works done during this time included a millennium calendar for HP and many art  projects for British Council.

 
 

He then joined XM Malaysia, a pioneering digital agency in Malaysia and worked on the first website for Sony and Toyota. In the 6 years he was with XM, he set the design tone and art direction for Malaysia Design Council, Compaq, RHB Bank, Citibank, Maxis, Hotlink, Petrosains and Petronas.  He helped push for better football professionalism through a series of designs for AFC (Asian Football Confederation) in China, won a Kancil and MC2 awards for his work for Toyota, and Discovery Channel Award for tourism  in Asia for Cheong Fatt Tzee Mansion, a Unesco Heritage building in Penang.

Other design work in Malaysia included as design advisor for DRB-Hicom InfoTec's CEO on Linux National Special Project, film title and poster design for a documentary film on Ramli Ibrahim, a world renown Indian Classical dancer by film maker Sandeep Joseph. Also worth mentioning is, he has been featured in Malaysian daily NST to talk about digital marketing, and was one of the speaker at wRega's first Design Symposium at the National Art Gallery, Malaysia. Had his art work exibited at Izzu Gallery, Gallery Shah Alam, Wanganui Design Center and Malaysian High Comission in Wellington, New Zealand.

 
 

His first job in London is with SAS Design (DesignWeek's top 50 Design Agency) setting design and art direction for Amey website, a support services company that keeps Britain going. He then joined eMomentum, revamping web presence of eConvertion and brand creation of 4playguide and PC Insider. He was also a resident cook for eMomentum, making Malaysian curry once a month for the team. His last position in London was Art Director for NavyBlue (DesignWeek's top 50 Design Agency and the agency involved London's winning bid for the Olympics 2012 bid ). There he worked on New Balance, CallPrint, Premier League, Soccerex, Miller Homes and NetJets - a private jet company owned by  Warren Buffet.

Moved to Manchester in August 2007. Worked at TBWA/Digerati on Nissan emarketing and at BJL working of Bradford & Bingley website before joining Sony Ericsson.
